STORAGE

Storage

If you need to put things into storage, short term or long term, Stalbridge Removals and Transportation have a storage facility with shipping containers to store your possessions whether it’s a single item or your whole house contents!

The storage facilities are damp proof, airtight, clean and secure in our locked yard with CCTV on site.

WHAT NOT TO PUT INTO STORAGE

FOOD

Please do not store any food in the unit, other than unopened cans. Food left for a long period of time can attract insects and rodents which can chew on and nest in all sorts of items, potentially destroying your goods. This could also lead to damage of other customers' items. Some foods may also rot, emit bad odours and provide conditions allowing bacteria and mould to grow.

PLANTS

Plants must not be put into storage. They would not be provided with the correct conditions and requirements to survive. They also may attract pests.

HAZARDOUS MATERIALS

Any materials that have the potential to corrode, burn or explode are not allowed to be stored at storage facilities. They pose a serious risk to human health. Dangerous items can lead to costly property damage as well. Please do not store chemicals, acids, gases, fuel, oils, paints and paint thinners, pesticides, alcohol, fireworks, and so on. You may be allowed to store various garden equipment (your lawnmower, for instance) only after you’ve removed all the fuel. Please check with us first.

WET OR SCENTED ITEMS

Wet or damp items cannot be stored as they can create the right conditions for mould and mildew to grow which could potentially cause lasting damage to your other items in storage. Please check before putting items into storage that they are completely dry, including clothes. Scented items such as candles or soaps can attract insects or rodents so please also avoid storing these in with your goods.

ANIMALS

Under no circumstances are you allowed to leave any live animals in your storage unit. It is not only morally wrong but it is also against the law to do so. If, for some reason or another, you won’t be able to take care of a pet after the move, then leave the animal with a family member, a friend or take them to an animal shelter to be cared for.

renting a storage

When renting a storage unit please note there are certain things that should not be stored. Please see the list below of the things you are not allowed to keep in storage for safety reasons. Please understand that in case of trouble resulting from you not following the storage safety rules, you will be held responsible for any potential damages.
